Each plant cell is totally independent on its own. It is self sustained and provides for itself completely, the very same way each human home does. However, the combination of multiple cells allows each cell to develop and become a greater entity, it becomes a plant. The very same is true for human beings. As new homes(cell) is added built it creates a community (plant).
